>> on this spotlight music series, singer-songwriter, eddy bush, and it's so good to see you.

>> good to see you too.

>> goodness gracious, and it sounds like you've been a busy busy man.

What have you been up to lately?

The quarantine sent me even more folks, so i've been teaching every day and took the days off and you just released a new cd and when did you compile this and put it together?

>> i've been putting it out every year on my birthday, every few years now, and we were headed out to do that last year, and decided to slow down, and take a look at the material we were working with.

So it's really the result of probably 18 months worth of writing.

There are 18 songs on this record and i'm really really pumped about this collection.

>> i can't wait to hear more about this, and a happy birthday is due.

>> thank you.

>> and who is on this album?

Is it mostly you or are you collaborating with any other musicians?

>> i collaborated from a writing standpoint with really great people.

I wrote the lead-off sim, come alive with the great craig wiseman, and he just had his 28th sim.

And you probably know his music.

And i wrote songs with marcus humming, a grammy winning writer from nashville who produced songs of the south and amy foster, the daughter of david foster, the famous producer and she wrote the song broke down girl with me and my friend, chris roberts.

So there are lots of folks that i work with on the record and my friend, dave matthews, he produced the record.

And it's just he and i on this record and it's pretty cool how we put this together.

>> i just find it so cool that by 2?

Of separation i know dave matthews.

But even by a first degree of separation i know you, eddy bush.

You have worked with the number of musicians that you have collaborated with, and collaborated with you, you've done so much over the course of your career and can you remind us of those highlihts?

>> in 2008, willie nelson, neil young, john melon catch and dave matthews just in one show, and i played the very first, in '94, i played one of the first wave fests, which is 24 how people.

And i think that was matthews, sweet, cracker and myself.

And i toured with eric johnson, and i played with keith urban and sammy hagar and ted nugent and cheap trick andario speed wagon.

>> and the list goes on.

>> things have been different this time around,.

>> and you remastered.

Which is yours?

>> it came out in 1991, and what a great period that was for myself and we had a group called the eddie bush group at the time and we were assigned to a label, h and g records, which was home to the blue dogs, to uncle mingo and to us.

My friend, robert graves owned that label.

And peace and confusion was my first full-length disk and arcably the first cd by a local group.

Because it was such new media.

But it was one of the first with out a doubt.

And it was super popular.

I think that we sold it out and they sold it out in basically six months ago.

>> fast forward to today.

And the latest album, the next right thing, we're going to be hearing from that.

But first, anybody who.

To see you perform, you have your first outing tonight and you're going to be performing in summerville, and folly beach so people can come out and see you do your thing.

I want to thank you so much, eddie for joining us today.

>> thank you so much for having me.

>> congratulations.

>> thank you.

>> great to see you and we're going to hear some of your music after this.
