A Pike County man is charged with the attempted murder of a police officer following a shooting over the weekend.

Ksp says whitehead pulled a gun on the trooper who showed at the home to investigate.

When he refused to put it down... police say there was an exhange of gunfire.

Whitehead was hit in the hand.

The trooper was not injured.
