MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) - Bibb County Sheriff's Office investigators made an arrest Thursday in connection to a November 22 shooting death at an apartment complex.

Our top story tonight at 11: a man in connection to a deadly shooting in macon last weekend, is now in jail.

Bibb county investigators arrested 22-year-old jamal roundtree for a homicide at the riverbend apartments.

According to investigators, roundtree was near the vehicle of 49-year-old romero gonzalez when we was shot and killed.

This arrest comes after a different person was initially arrested for the incident.

37-year-old guadalupe perez was the first person arrested in this case last monday.

According to investigators, perez gave several false statement about the incident and claimed he was not in the vehicle when gonzalez was shot.

Later it was discovered perez was sitting inside of the vehicle when the shooting happened.

But due to new information and evidence, the murder charge against perez is dropped.

But he's still in custody for an unrelated charge, and has a hold by
