Students in roseburg will be going back to the virtual classroom after winter break& despite the governor plan to give districts more control over in- person learning.

District staff planned to bring kindergarten through fifth graders back next week& due to the recent decrease in coronavirus cases in the county.

But, they're putting that on pause& so they can readjust to the governor latest guidance.

The president of the roseburg education association says some teachers still feel uneasy about the latest changes.

Camron pope, president, roseburg education association:?wee right at the end.

We see the end in sight.

To completely shift and pivot from where we are and turn the metrics into advisory rather than mandate it is extremely frustrating.

District staff say they will also continue with their limited in-person learning option& which allows some struggling students back into the classroom.

The roseburg school board is expected to meet next wednesday to discuss their options further.
