Roseburg schools offer limited in-person learning for struggling students

Roseburg public schools is now offering a*limited in-person learning option for students -- who are struggling with distanced learning.

As kezi 9 news reporter evita garza explains -- many parents say this will help students in the long run.

As a parent, john knott tells me he knows how important it is for his daughter to have a face-to-face relationship with her teachers.

That why he says he all for roseburg public school limited in- person learning option& because he says it will benefit students.?teachers need to be able to see first hand directly what their students are doing?

Even though the district is under a full time distance learning plan right now& roseburg education association president cameron pope says they intend to bring some students back a few hours a week.

He says the goal is to target students who need the extra-help with distance learning.?every family, every student is different.

There is different levels of parental support at home.

Evita:?pope says the district is offering this to 6th through 12th graders first.

Then, he says the district plans to reevaluate after winter break... to see if it will benefit the younger kids too?

Pope says the program will begin next wednesday& and is completely optional for students.
