Little too late.

Last night's chaotic events on capitol hill shooked people not just in america.but around the world.

Many residents in the summit city say if this were a different type of protest, it would've gone completely different.

Fox 55 brianna dahlquist has more.

.

Lyndy bazile knows a little about protesting.

She participated in the black lives matter protests in the summer and was outside representative jim banks' office today.but she's never seen police respond like they did wednesday when rioters stormed into the capitol with little resistance.

"if these were black people and if this were the summer, everybody knows what would have happened.

We can see it clearly in our minds how this would have gone down.

The riot left four dead and more than 14 officers injured.professor michelle kelsey of purdue fort wayne says the people who descended upon capitol hill had every right to protest, they just went about it in the wrong way.

"the complete lack of voter fraud makes taking their claims seriously really difficult.

If there is evidence or was evidence, there are channels that make more sense to go through than to just show up and interrupt the process."

Regardless of motive, kelsey says we can all agree that taking selfies with police officers after breaking into the whitehouse shocked the entire world.

"when i saw police taking pictures with protestors.

I think it's disturbing in a specific way but i think it validates some claims that the black lives matter protestors have been making."i'm brianna dahlquist.
