A BILL BANNING MOST NO-KNOCK WARRANTS THAT PASSED THE FULL SENATE TWO WEEKS AGO PASSED A HOUSE COMMITTEE

A bill banning most no-knock warrants that passed the full senate two weeks ago passed a house committee today.... but not before lawmakers heard from the sponsor of "breonnna's law."

The house judiciary committee heard from senate bill four's sponsor... senate president robert stivers.... as well as representative attica scott of louisville.... who sponsored house bill 21... also known as "breonna's law..

However... scott's bill was "for discussion only" and not voted on today.

While senate bill four bans most no- knock warrants and limits how no-knock warrants can be carried out.... house bill 21 bans all no- knock warrants.

It also requires police officers to receive drug and alcohol testing after deadly incidents.

Both scott and stivers spoke before the committee on their measures today.

Scott says stivers' bill does not go far enough but that she wants to work with stivers on the issue... something stivers says he is open to.
