Union minister on EC campaign ban on BJP leader after 'NIA threat' | Assam polls

Union minister Anurag Thakur reacted to the campaign ban imposed by the Election Commission on Bharatiya Janata Party leader Himanta Biswa Sarma.

He was barred from campaigning, initially for 48 hours, and then 24 hours after an 'unconditional apology'.

Sarma allegedly threatened Bodoland People's Front chief Hagrama Mohilary with jail through the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
