Today found crews moving some trees near mcquillian soccer field here in rochester.

Rochester's parks and recreation department removed some young red oak trees today.

The trees were in the footprint of where longfellow elementary school's new building will be constructed.

Instead of having them destroyed, the department decided to we are really working on preserving trees in the city of rochester.

This is something that we are working on creating canopy goals for so that were able to save trees and do more projects like this in the future thirty trees have been replanted so far.

Twenty five will be going to other med city parks.
