This is the impressive moment a python was seen climbing a tree by wrapping itself around the trunk.

The wild reptile was seen slowly making its way to the top of the tree in Surat Thani province, Thailand in November 2020.

Onlooker Thepparit Maneechot said the snake had left when he returned to check the next day.

He said: "I don’t know where it went.

I think it had a nest nearby and was hunting for food when I saw it." Snakes could climb trees by tensing their belly muscles to grip tiny barks and then slithering straight up or by a hold-and-release upward movement.
