The ballot measure was defeated by approximately 165,000 votes.

Less than 100 votes were changed as a result of the recount.

The recount was funded by a local Kansan who is a well-known anti-abortion activist.

Both the funder and the recount organizer have suggested there may have been irregularities concerning the initial vote.

Neither have provided any evidence to support such claims. In addition, both claim that calling for the recount had less to do with the actual measure.

But instead was called for and conducted to promote election integrity.

Nine were included in the recount.
