DRIVER FALLS ASLEEP, ROLLS CAR, LIVINGSTON TEXAS, 09/06/22...

Driver Falls Asleep, Rolls Car, LIVINGSTON, September 6, 2022 - Shortly before 1 am on September 6, 2022, a white 2014 Ford Focus, driven by Jennifer Smith, 20, of Livingston, was north-bound on US-59 just south of the Livingston City Limits when she apparently fell asleep at the wheel.

Smith's vehicle left the pavement to the left, entered the center median and rolled.

Smith's vehicle came to rest on its passenger's side facing south.

During the rollover, the engine fell out of the bottom of the car.

Allegiance Ambulance was dispatched to the scene along with Deputy Kaleb Boyer with the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

Additionally, Officers with Livingston Police Department showed up to assist.

Trooper Cotye Lowrie with the Texas Highway Patrol was dispatched to investigate.

Smith was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Traffic was not blocked during investigation and cleanup.

No citations were issued.

Smith's vehicle was recovered by Ken's Towing (Ken was assisted by Pop's Towing).

Smith's vehicle will be stored at Harrison Body Shop in Livingston.
