New Zealand police said on Wednesday (May 17) they were treating a deadly hostel fire in the capital, Wellington, as arson and had opened a homicide inquiry.
"This scene examination will be an extensive and methodical process, and we expect it to take some time..." Acting Wellington District Commander Dion Bennett said.
