Cluster munitions are being used effectively by Ukrainian forces in their counteroffensive against Russia’s invasion, a US official said.
On July 20, the Washington Post reported that Kyiv’s forces are using cluster munitions against Russian positions.
The Russian positions in the east and south of Ukraine have been “densely mined with antitank and antipersonnel mines”, the report stated.
A Ukrainian military official told the newspaper that cluster munitions are being used to “break up” Russian trenches.
