Black high school student suspended for hairstyle in Texas

Darryl George, a high school junior in Texas, has been suspended from school twice this year because of his hairstyle.

The school district says he violated their grooming code which prohibits male students’ hair from extending below the eyebrows or ear lobes.

It comes as the state’s CROWN Act just went into effect, banning acts of discrimination against certain hair styles and textures in schools and workplaces.

His family is now considering legal action.
