Seven J.C. Penney stores in New York are closing

J.C. Penney, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in May, released its list of store closures on Thursday, including seven in the state of New York. The store closures, listed in a bankruptcy court filing, include a total of 154. California and Ohio both had the most store closures on the list with nine, followed by Indiana and Florida with eight, and seven closures apiece in Georgia, New York and Texas.
