Fe Ltd moves closer to mining with key environmental approval granted for Wiluna West JWD Iron Ore Project

Fe Ltd (ASX:FEL) (FRA:B4T) has been granted a key environmental approval for its Wiluna West JWD Iron Ore Project in Western Australia as the project gets moves closer to the start of mining.  The company has received formal notification from the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation (DWER) that it has granted the Works Approval for the JWD Project.  This represents the final primary environmental approval for the project and its grant facilitates the construction of the crushing and screening plant and associated infrastructure on site.  Preparation for mining Fe Ltd executive chairman Tony Sage said: "We are pleased that the works approval has been granted, which largely completes the permitting process for the JWD project. “As I mentioned in the last company update, we are now starting to see the results flow through from all the team’s work and we expect to continue to announce a steady stream of milestones being achieved in coming weeks as we finalise our preparation for commencement of mining." Appointment of contractor Last week, the company signed a letter of intent aimed at appointing emerging mining contractor Big Yellow as mining contractor for the West Wiluna JWD project. The full contract is expected to be completed within the next 30 days, subject to receipt of necessary environmental approvals and logistic contracts. The LOI will enable Big Yellow to allocate the necessary mining fleet and people to the project. Offtake arrangements FEL has a number of parties interested in securing the JWD product and is working to finalise the optimal offtake arrangement utilising the company’s extensive industry contracts.
