PyroGenesis Canada ships its first commercial plasma-atomized titanium powder samples to a client

PyroGenesis Canada Inc (TSE:PYR) (NASDAQ:PYR) (FRA:8PY) announced it has shipped its first commercial samples of plasma-atomized titanium powder to a client in the aerospace industry. The company said the client’s name will remain confidential for competitive reasons. “These are the first samples shipped using PyroGenesis’ cutting-edge Additive Manufacturing (AM) NexGen powder production line,” PyroGenesis Canada CEO Peter Pascali said in a statement. READ: PyroGenesis sees 1Q revenue rocket to $6.3M, as its current backlog expands to $26M signed contracts “Of note, these powders were not shipped to the tier one global aerospace company referred in our April 20th Press Release, but is in addition to that order which is in process as well,” Pascali added. PyroGenesis also noted it is currently filling orders from several major top-tier aerospace companies and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Massimo Dattilo, vice president of PyroGenesis Additive, also commented: “This shipment represents the first of many expected shipments of PyroGenesis’ titanium powder. We are now in a position to fulfill the backlog of demand for our powders and we anticipate that these shipments will lead to further qualification steps and/or commercial orders.”   “Separately, and as we have mentioned in the past, the NexGen powder production process has resonance beyond titanium alloys, and we are eager to begin addressing these markets as well.” PyroGenesis said the NexGen production line incorporates what it calls several “revolutionary” improvements, such as the highest published production rate known to management, lower capital expenditures, lower operational expenditures, while at the same time providing a narrower particle size distribution. The company added that it is entering the AM powder market with a production line that management believes makes it the low-cost producer in its class.  PyroGenesis is a high-tech company that designs, develops, manufactures, and commercializes plasma atomized metal powder, plasma waste-to-energy systems, and plasma torch products.
