Mark Suzman made the call an annual letter released Thursday. The message is a familiar one from the Gates Foundation, which is one of the largest global health funders. It recently announced a budget of $8.6 billion for 2024, its largest budget to date. The budget increase also coincides with backsliding on progress towards major development goals like ending poverty. Suzman said the foundation was modeling this call to increase giving at a time of great need.
