India reports nearly 5,000 new Covid cases, 38 deaths; active caseload falls to 44k

India has reported 4,912 new Covid cases in 24 hours, taking the tally of cases to 4,45,63,337, data released by the government on Saturday stated. The death toll climbed to 5,28,487 with 38 fatalities, which include 19 deaths reconciled by Kerala, it showed. The active caseload declined to 44,436, with a decline of 845 cases in 24 hours.
