Soros had recently made remarks at the Munich Security Conference, saying that the turmoil engulfing business tycoon Gautam Adani's empire may open the door to a democratic revival in India. He had noted that PM Modi had been "silent" on allegations of fraud and stock manipulation at Adani's industrial empire.
