Mumbai and five more airports to get Digi Yatra in August

The Indian government will be launching biometrics-enabled airport experience, Digi Yatra, at six airports including Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The Digi Yatra facility is a mobile app-based system using facial recognition technology, which will provide seamless processing of passengers in an effort to reduce wait times. The system has been in use since December last year at New Delhi, Varanasi and Bengaluru airports, while Hyderabad, Kolkata, Pune and Vijayawada airports were added to the program earlier this year.
