Navy's under-construction guided missile destroyer 'Surat' unveiled

The crest of the Indian Navy's latest guided missile destroyer, 'Surat', was unveiled in a ceremony attended by the Chief Minister of Gujarat and the Chief of the Naval Staff. The crest depicts the famous lighthouse at Hazira, with an Asiatic lion symbolizing the ship's strength. Equipped with advanced naval warfare technology, the ship represents the navy's commitment to maritime security. The ship, named after the city of Surat, is part of Project 15B and showcases India's shipbuilding prowess. It is set to join active service next year.
