Delhi government's environment department has prepared an inventory of major air pollution sources at 24 priority areas in the city. The department has identified sources of pollution at all continuous ambient air quality monitoring stations (Caaqms) in Delhi including open burning of biomass, dumping of municipal waste, potholed roads, traffic congestion, and construction activity. This inventory has been shared with the concerned agencies to reduce emissions. In total, 90 varied pollution sources have been mapped at these 24 locations. The concentration of PM2.5 and PM10 in Delhi exceeded national and international standards in 2023.
