Uttarakhand cabinet approves UCC report, bill likely to be tabled in Assembly on February 6

The Uniform Civil Code (UCC) report received approval during a meeting at chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami's residence on Sunday, as sanctioned by the Uttarakhand Cabinet. The proposal is expected to be presented in the Uttarakhand Assembly on February 6. The drafting committee of the Uniform Civil Code, headed by retired Supreme Court judge Ranjana Prakash Desai, presented the draft to chief minister Dhami on Friday.
