Jordan is going through calm phase in epidemiological situation: Health Minister

(MENAFN - Jordan News Agency) Amman, Apr. 25 (Petra) -- Minister of Health Firas Hawwari said Jordan is going through a "calm phase" in the epidemiological situation, indicating that the crisis of receiving vaccines has begun to recede."Today, we are heading to achieve the desired goal of vaccinating 70 percent of citizens," Hawwari said in a meeting with Chinese Ambassador to Jordan Chen Chuandong, during which a new batch of Sinopharm vaccine was received, as a donation to Jordan from the Chinese government."Jordan is working to ensure that the vaccine shortage is not an obstacle to controlling the pandemic," Hawwari added, noting that Jordan has made tremendous efforts to provide vaccines to citizens and residents in the Kingdom.The Health Minister lauded the strong relations between Jordan and China and their efforts to combat the pandemic through measures and vaccinations, stressing that the government seeks to give the protective vaccine against the virus to more than 70 percent of citizens, as experience has shown that the pandemic wave will not recede unless everyone wins.He said, that the Chinese vaccine is one of the most used vaccines in the world, and it is safe and effective, and 200 million people have taken it in China, calling for no hesitation in taking the vaccine.
