Serious assault, Paignton

Police investigating the serious assault on a woman in Paignton are appealing for information to help with their enquiries.

Officers and paramedics were called to an address in Torquay Road just before 1am today [28 May] and found a seriously injured woman in her 40s with stab wounds.

The victim remains in a serious condition in hospital following the assault.

A 47-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is in custody.
