Worthwhile Wear to Host the Act Challenge, a National Human Trafficking Awareness Event

From May 1st through July 30th, which is "World Day Against Trafficking," everyone, everywhere is invited to walk, bike, run, swim or even kayak to support survivors of human trafficking through Worthwhile Wear's national "Act Challenge." Every mile logged unlocks a donation from our sponsors that funds safe housing, counseling, employment, and other restorative programming for survivors of human trafficking in America. The Act Challenge is free to join and open to all ages and abilities. This event is called the Act Challenge because so often when people learn about this issue they want to take action, and this is a great place to start.
The national Act Challenge is in its fifth year, with an ever-growing audience, and has a goal of logging 200,000 miles this year. Worthwhile Wear traditionally sees schools, businesses, churches, rotary clubs, fitness clubs, and many others from around the country come together to create teams or even participate individually. The engagement is broad because the goal is simple: raise awareness about this important issue.
The fuel behind this initiative is the many businesses, individuals, and churches that pledge donations, which motivates the Act Challenge participants to log their miles to unlock the sponsorships. This funding enables Worthwhile Wear to offer some of the most comprehensive services directly to survivors of trafficking in the U.S. If businesses are open to thinking creatively, many apply their marketing dollars to this event knowing that their name will be associated with a worthy effort, while at the same time reaching a broad audience.
