Indian COVID strain 'variant of concern' but not vaccine resistant: WHO

The B.1.617 virus variant that was first identified in India had been classified as a variant of interest by the WHO. India, which is suffering from one of the worst COVID outbreaks in the world, reported 3.70 lakh fresh infections of coronavirus in a day.
