Israeli commander explains role of Iron Dome in intercepting rockets, minimising casualties

Israeli commander Doron Gavish explains the workings of the Iron Dome system, part of a multi-layered defence system that intercepts thousands of rockets from Hezbollah and Gaza. The system also alerts residents of incoming rockets and intercepts unmanned aerial vehicles. It works in combination with the David's Sling system for longer range threats. The Home Front Commander plays a role in warning residents to take shelter, resulting in a low percentage of casualties despite the large number of rockets fired at Israel.
