SOUNDBITE: John Horgan, B.C. Premier PLACELINE: Nanaimo, B.C. CREDIT: The Canadian Press STORYLINE: British Columbia Premier John Horgan briefed federal cabinet ministers on B-C concerns as the cabinet held its summer retreat in Nanaimo.

Horgan spoke to media after the meeting, telling them that B-C and Ottawa remain divided on the issue of the Trans Mountain pipeline and increased oil tanker traffic through west coast waters.

But he says he's grateful for federal assistance with the hundreds of wildfires currently burning in B-C.

He says he is working closely with federal ministers to resolve challenges raised by this year's wildfires.
