>>>joy howe: they helped track down a man accused of threatening to put bombs on campus.
Wfmz's emma wright is live at lafayette college with more.
Emma... federal law enforcement says the bomb threats are called swatting...hoax threats made to cause alarm.
They say they want people to know that these types of threats are taken very seriously and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
The u.s. attorney's office says they have arrested a man in alaska, 3?yea?old gavin casdorph and charged him with making the threats.
If convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison.
The fbi says casdorph admitted to them earlier this month that he emailed and made threats to the college on social media back in may.
Investigators say casdorph claimed to be a student who had pledged allegiance to isis and planted bombs around lafayette's campus.
The threats put the campus on lockdown and forced lafayette to alter their plans for graduation.
The fbi says around the time of the incident, casdorph had gotten into an argument with a lafayette student while playing a video game but the fbi didn't elaborate much more on the nature of the relationship.
The fbi says the case is still under investigation and more arrests may be made.
