Just sending my duas to the families, apparently there's close to 30 people dead.

Just sending out my duas and Inshallah everyone who's been killed today in Christchurch, your families you can take.....yeah just sending my duas to your loved ones, and Inshallah to you all in paradise.

I'm just....deeply deeply saddened that this would happen in New Zealand." STORY: Dual code New Zealand international rugby player Sonny Bill Williams has sent his sympathies to those affected by the Christchurch mosque shootings, which has left at least 49 people dead.

33-year-old Williams, who has won 51 All Blacks caps after switching codes from league to union, was visibly emotional in his video tribute to the victims and their families after Friday's shootings in the city on New Zealand's south island.

Williams spent time in Christchurch in 2011 when he played for Super Rugby team, Crusaders, and currently plays for the Auckland Blues.

Williams, who also had a stint as a professional boxer, began his career in rugby league, playing for the Canterbury Bulldogs before returning to the code to play for the Sydney Roosters.

The two-time Rugby World Cup winner has also played club rugby union in France with Toulon and in Japan where he featured for Panasonic Wild Knights.

Williams converted to islam in 2009 and is the first Muslim to play for the All Blacks.
