There is increased focus on understanding mental illness, expanding access to treatment, and showing support to those who struggle with mental illness.

This morning we're talking to our favorite counselor wendie woods about different types options for mental health professionals and when and why medication is an option.

Rebecca hall >> this is a little deeper conversation and giving our audience types of mental health vessels let's start with this one is the difference between a psychiatrist and a psychologist and psychiatrist is a trained medical doctor is able to look at mental health illnesses and they can buy medication whereas a psychologist was also trained and educated has a phd not a medical degree and they do evaluations and assessments in light learning disabilities or iq emotional intelligence is a time where you can see a psychiatrist psychologist and therapist medical aspects of mental health and medication is mostly not the case and do mental illness from a medical standpoint and day-to-day lives are looking at the party from the perspective they know what roots was the dosages are without rights and obviously converse with you to see what is working with working recognize not always been the director was instantly get the right medication for the first time going to send in this way really is your ear infection but it may not work for you is the same way from the list counselors me i can send it out in the same therapist is to change therapist but my personal is in his there is another term that is of a life was under the same mental health umbrella is a valuable day i accountability you life issue here to the code and they will what kind of reaction's they will encourage you and i guess i was leading to stress out tre ito there is to be a higher level of training with therapist and a life coach and and traing in that particular field a life coach can often achieve those limitations the online classes and is very differentlyif y are if you are dreaming of your own private island, it can be yours - for the day.

Just one adventure when you book a cruise.

Kelly is next on mid morning.

Adinon a heading on a cruise - or just thinking about setting sail?

Mid morning will be right haseen it has been a popular, quirky comedy.

And now, it's almost time to say goodbye to sheldon, penny, leonard & the rest of the gang on the big bang theory.

After 12 incredible seasons and 279 episodes, how will the longest- running multi- cam comedy series be remembered?

During their final days on set, the cast shared their thoughts on the show's legacy& pre fonted have a great show everyone.

- i think i would like our show to be rembered as a really strong four camera sitcom.

That films in front of a live audience in an era when not a lot of people want to do that.

Not a lot of people can do that.

And not a lot of people can do it as well as chuck lorre does it.

- i think it's going to live on in everyone's hearts.

Good characters last forever and these characters are winners.

They started out in a way as losers and they are winners at the end of the day.

It doesn't have to be so life- changing sometimes.

It can also just be a show that was well written and people loved the characters and it made people laugh and it brought people together.

Grandparents and kids could watch it together.

I would like the show to be remembered as one that&no one saw coming.

We didn't get a lot of critical love to begin with.

And then it just kind of kept climbing.

And i'm really proud of that.

- "erase tha take!"

If people remember their experience with these characters.

Which is "oh watched this with my mother."

This wouldn't exist without people that invested their time and, and connected.

"that's mar hamill!"

Think the way i'd like the show to be rembered in that it just made people happy.

That just warms my heart.

It's different for everybody i guess what they get from it.

If it brought joy i think that's good.

We all have shows that we watch over & over that probably were on so many years ago that we love, that brings us comfort.

And i believe that the big bang theory brings people comfort.

You can catch the 1-hour season finale on thursday may 16 from at 7pm right here on wcbi-tv.

The cbs this morning series " more perfect union" aims t show what unites us as americans is far greater than what divides us.

The latest installment is the story of a young college student who's overcoming poverty and hardship, with the help of a stringed instrument.

Eddie james plays lead cello in the george mason university orchestra.

He says he discovered his talent by accident.

Chip reid visited james on the virginia campus, to learn about this life- changing passion.

Eddie adams// lead cellist :26 - :33 gerald fowkes// adams' high school music teacher 1:17 - 1:21 june huang// director of string instruments, george mason university 1:45 - 1:50 script: what is happening to you when you play?

I mean mostly it's me trying to ignore the fact that there's hundreds of people in front of me... for 20 year old eddie adams, the cello has been an instrument for much more than music& 13;16;19;16 //- i would stay after school and practice and just you know- um- for however long.

And then would take like the after school bus home just to at least spend as much time as i can being, i guess away from reality.

13;16;41;12 ://the cello takes you away from reality?

13;16;45;21 yeah.

He struggled with a difficult home life, and at times, lived with his family in a shelter... i just rember it was kind of weird especially having to take the school bus from the homeless shelter.

In junior high school, he discovered the cello by chance... 13;13;42;29 they like had us go around and try different instruments percussion and they said i had no rhythm .

So um then i ended up not playing percussion and they were like, "oh we nee people in the orchestra."

An then that was like the first time i a saw cello and i was like, " don't want to do this."

But he persevered&with the help of cello youtube videos and encouragement from people like his high school music teacher gerald fowkes .

At the time his escape was music.

He became so good so fast that george mason university offered him a full tuition scholarship even though he had never had a private lesson... he has talent.

Enormous talent.

The director of stringed instruments at george mason june huang , says adams audition was special... i rember that moment because it's unique when you hear music come from the core of somebody, the silent peaceful middle of someone and i felt honored to witness that.

When he didn't have one of his own, huang lent adams her cello&.

14;01;30;03 jh: // i believe we are mandated as human beings to lift each other and to bring each other's gifts forward.

And that's really all i'm doing.

And he made beautiful music on my terrible cello& for adams, simple deeds like those have been life changing... whatoes what does the cello mean to you?

Everything because it's kind of gotten me everything that i have now.

And it got me into school and i never saw myself in college.

A sound success, where the opportunities are endless... chip reid cbs news fairfax virginia.

Evythi i everything is better with a little gravy.

If you belong to that school of thought, then watch our muw culinary chef to be.

Here is recious miller with step by step instructions for gravy.

We'll be right to today i will make homemade brown gravy.

I my pan ... you can be's potatoes and rice first my pain is heated i have a whole cup of self rising flour and oil to make sure my pieces hot we see it sizzle that is ready to so the senate can easily and fast as you can because it will burn ... you would like to list it as fast as you can because it keeps it from getting clumpy or lots and he wanted as long three as possible over here i have dreams of the unit just in case the father was taking it to ... itil it will serve as fast as i have other ingredients just to get more flavor mcgrath brown white gravy iordeto in order to fit you just ride ive ings five things from this and you may not use all it just ends the return of our (enough and not the seasoned salt and black flavor ... during if you don't use it you can just make a music radio and flour and then let it cook in the it water and you have gravy homemade gravy and add my black pepper 2 ounces ... d in and in an evil water and add some more ... don't worry about not getting correct the first time just keep practicing ... mbur hamburger steak right here," friends the gravy ... merad caramelized onions on top of it ... there's a homemade gravyback to wrap things up.
