Standup: the system allows both retired and current health professionals, and students with backgrounds in areas of health care to offer their services ..one volunteer tells me she never heisted whether or not she should sign up"to see that there are in dire need of how many people they need to come in i's extreme right now."

Ul nursing senior elise baldwin volunteered her time to help thoes on the front lies fighting covid-19...sh's says i's extremely exhausting "i's very overwhelming sometimes you know you leave and you come back and more things are changed overnight you know w're having to adapt and kind of overcome kind a like how are used to do in the military" after working in the army as medic, elise says sh's used to being put in strenuous situations...but sh's never had to face a global pandemic "you can be as careful as you want to be and it can be sometimes you know that one slight such to the face that you missed or you did't wash your hands for five seconds longer it could be anything."

Though her 12 hour shifts and her drive back and forth to baton rouge general is tiresome...she would't have it any other way i mean it really was't a question to me to come in or to not come inwe are growing the next generation of leaders and people who care and i can tell you how pleased i am to see the kind of volunteerism that our students are demonstrating your passion and their commitment to things beyond themselves dr. ramesh kolluru helped to develop the covid-19 volunteer management system which is helping place volunteers across the state in hospitals to ensure they have the help they need "in louisiana we deal with disasters we know we are a resilient people so w're going to do whatever we can."

"we took a step forward in this direction of being healthcare providers of healthcare as workers and we have the opportunity to do that right now with the retired or still in school."in lafayette leigha mcneil news 15
