Retailers, shoppers in West Point to wear masks starting Monday

Retail workers and shoppers in West Point must wear masks starting Monday.

This change.

The owner of petal pushers in downtown west point said hes ready to have his business operating somewhat normal again.

Scott owns a gift, flower and garden shop on main street.

Because of the coronavirus, scott closed his store for two weeks.

He then opened back up for curbside orders..

But now hes able to open the inside of the store to the public again.

The west point board of selectmen approved an update to the city's ordinance..

City leaders will require everyone in a retail establishment to wear a mask or face covering starting on monday.

Scott said he will comply with the ordinance..but he questions how he can ensure all of his customers wear a mask inside..

"the only concern i have is, i can't enforce any kind of ordinance so i'm not sure how..i know there's a lot of people out there that don't believe in masks.

So if i have a client that comes in that won't wear one i'm not sure as a business owner how to handle that because obviously i don't want to turn away any business especially now just opening up after three weeks..

Scott said hes working on a plan to encourage everyone to wear a mask,,but to continue curbside for those who do not wear a mask.
