Shattered glass and stolen property was not the only damage done.

Pena said that it’s unfortunate staff members had to suffer from the closed doors.

Another set-back arose over the weekend for local businesses, leaving many in shambles.

Kezi 9 news reporter kennedy dendy was in downtown eugene today and spoke with one manager who's ready to open doors back up as soon as possible.

Across downtown eugene, some businesses were hit*harder than others.

From looting stores... to broken windows...to graffiti written all over the walls.

"it will affect our business for the next two or three weeks, because windows are not going to be installed for the next three weeks."

For many, the recovery process had only just begun after the pandemic took a toll financially.

Bridge: i'm standing here at five guys where just days ago, looting, vandalism and chaos left this business and others in ruins& and multiple business owners feeling helpless and wondering what the next steps will be.

But on wednesday, these doors plan to reopen to customers.

"we're doing our best to be ready for the community."

General manager jose pena explained what else took a hit... and it wasn't just property.

"we lost labor.

It's been already four days without work for at least 15 people, and of course the damages of windows, patio tables are gone."

And while there business owners nearby who may not have been*affected physically, they too are still trying to make sense of it all and preparing for any possibilities that could come their way.

"protecting one another but also not becoming too fearful, because i think its really important that we continue to support one another as best we can."

The area of 7th and washington alone reached over half a million dollars in damages.
