A virtual town hall was held on June 15 to connect students with local law enforcement to discuss the relationship between people of color and the police.

Brought middle and high school students together for a discussion on improving the relationships between students of color and law enforcement.

The syracuse police chief... and a retired captain from new york state police took questions.

Jawwaad rasheed, from the frontiers, was the host.

He says we all have the ability to become part of the solution.

We must work to reform and reshape legislation and laws that are systemically enforcing racism.

We have to be the leaders of change in your community.

Are we looking to join police forces, are we looking to be partners with police departments to show them how they can better policing in our communities 1:14:39 are we looking to take away from the police department the things they are not trained to do but we are forcing upon them.

1:14:48 montioring schools, dealing with the mentally ill which in most states were let out on particular day when there is no measurable change in their condition how do we have our police forces..........how do we have our police forces deal with so many different issues.

And expect them to respond to each and every issue as if they were specifically trained and expert in all these fields.
