That committee would review trainings and recommend some reforms for police practices... if necessary.

Among the policies in the spotlight are officers' use of maneuvers - which include choke holds or maneuvers that cut off oxygen.

Another policy... the types of weapons officers use when it comes to someone resisting arrest.

And even the way officers give a verbal warning is another policy this committee would like to look into.

In regards to the budget... it has a 6 million dollar shortfall because of coronavirus impacts.

We know the city has had to lay off 11 staff members and a hiring freeze for 24 positions.
