Coach's Corner: Crisp County Part 1

CRISP COUNTY IS COMING OFF A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME LOSS LAST SEASON ... AND IS LOOKING TO GET BACK THERE .... THIS SEASON.

... and is looking to get back there .... this season.

Here's bill shanks with cougars head coach brad harber.

Coach brando harbor from chris county is back.

And, you know, coach harbor told us last year when he was with us in the summer, that that junior class of his is going to be pretty special.

And boy, it was all the way the state championship game, the best season ever for chris county with a runner up in the state championship game, of course want a special season for everybody there in cordell coat, man, it was a, it was a great run, um, very deserving for, for that senior class that, that, uh, is unfortunately gone now.

But, um, man, they really held things together.

And uh, i think the biggest thing last year, it was just such a fun ride.

I mean, it is a lot of work, especially.

I mean, it always is, but in the playoffs a little, little bit more to do, you know?

And so, uh, the coaching staff decided and the, and really this was special to me.

I didn't make this decision, but, uh, we, we began working seven days a week and certainly paid off.

So it was a, it was a lot of fun.

That's a great, great season.

All right, let's talk about your offense now.

And you've got eight starters back.

You do have to replace three off in some line then, but you got aig lofted back at quarterback.

Markey's palmer back at running back.

You've got a wider secret back brian.

Yeah, mikhail hill.

So, i mean, you've got great talent coming back, but i know all the coaches always, you have to take a little bit of a gulp when you lose people.

That's right.

Well, i tell you what, what is going to be really interesting is, um, every position is like this, but, but office line is a little bit more, take some time to jail, you know, the, and right now we're identifying those guys.

A lot of guys are getting reps in there.

We think we have capable.

Uh, guys know we have capable guys, but you know, there's, there's a lot of weird stuff that goes on when all offensive line they've, they've got to love each other.

They've got to enjoy working together.

So that gel and part of the deal.

And then with, uh, with the way it is now not having the scrimmage game, um, you know, you find out a lot of things in a scrimmage and, and maybe can, uh, do that, but we're, we're not going to have that luxury.

We're only going to try to go to tiff county and give them all they want.

So it's, uh, but everybody's in the same boat, but, uh, yeah, man, we're, we're just working as hard as we can every day to identify those guys.

That'll be our starters real, real quick.

Now coach, those, those three main skill players, they're special talents, aren't they?

I tell you what bill, i tell everybody this and, and, and it is the truth.

I mean, i love that they're great football players.

I really do.

And that makes, makes the coaching job certainly a little bit easier.

But, um, uh, the, those guys, man, they're so much fun to be around.
