The state health officer said some Mississippi private schools’ coronavirus cases were not counted this week.

Spoke with the head of school at oak hill academy today.

She said she continues to be transparent about the school's cases despite the organization's inability to sumbit the data on time.

Pkg: sot: "having children safe, and making parents know their children are safe, and that we will tell them if something come up is at utmost importance to us."

Dr. cathy davis trt: 8 davis says oak hill is one of the many schools affiliated with the midsouth association of independent schools.

According to dr. thomas dobbs, private schools can report cases to the organization or the mississippi state department of health.

Head of the school, dr. cathy davis, said she sends data to both every friday just to be safe.

Sot: "we lists all our new cases by grade.

We list any quarantine cases by grade" trt: 7 davis added she will also list teachers and staff.

She said one student and one parent tested positive since classes began.

She sent out letters to notify families.

She believes the number of oak hill's coronavirus cases is low because of the transparency between her and parents.

Sot: "i think there's an open communication between our parent an our school.

And that we all want to be safe."
