Shooting on Steuben Street

A man is charged with attempted murder after allegedly shooting another man on Steuben Street Thursday morning.

Was shot in the chest, this morning.... and the alleged shooter is in custody.

It happened around eight am....in the intersection of steuben and james streets.

Police found a 33 year old with gunshot wounds.

He was sent to the hospital for emergency surgery.

Utica police say witnesses helped lead them to the suspect.

Epifanio dejesus is charged with attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

The victim, according to police, is expected to survive.

Police have not released possible motive.
