No football game Friday will affect Nettleton High School

Nettleton will not host Caledonia on Friday due to COVID-19 concerns at the high school.

Look a lot like it looks right now...empty and dark.

Even though no football player has tested positive "right now we have zero positive cases actually on our team."

Head football coach and athletic director at nettelton high, john keith, says although there are no positive cases some players are in quarentine.

Keith says the school was forced to cancel this weeks game against caldonia and no game means no ticket sales for the school "the games being at 25 percent it's not going to be as big of a loss as what it would typically be."

He says because of pre-planning school administartors expected this was a possibilty this year keith added with games only at 25 percent they will only lose about 4000 dollars on friday "a full crowd and that kind of stuff it would be a much bigger blow."

He said the school would normally pull in about 16 thousand dollars on friday nights.

Keith said luckily for the tigers,go the game this week was not a division game, meaning the cancellation will not effect the teams record for play off seating coach keith told me once enough players return from quarantine he looks forward to getting back out on the field for game night reporting live in nettelton erin wilson wtva 9 news meanwhile, the grenada
