Lynden -- it's been the story for weeks now -- trying to keep players, coaches and fans safe and healthy at football games during the pandemic.

Yep, and while the schools are really trying to do that, sometimes cases still pop up.

9 confirmed cases for bob jones football, so the patriots had to forfeit their game against florence tonight, it was a region matchup, and next week's game at abuurn.

So you know that entire community is upset about having an automatic two losses.

The battle of the unbeatens.

Madison academy and north jackson facing off tonight as we pick up in the second quarter.

The chiefs keep the game and the ball moving with a qucik snap to nigel lanier who tucks it and runs into the endzone to put the chiefs at 26 points chiefs qb dalton morris takes the snap out of pocket and looks across to find johnny gilliam who takes it to the ground in the endone for another touchdown for the chiefs making it 32 -10 with north jackson ahead.

And wow... the mustangs sure know how to rally... madison academy comes out in the second half with a handoff to william stokes in the red zone he breaks through the chief defense for a mustang touchdown.

The mustangs come back from a 22 point deficit..

For 36-32 win tonight the sparkman senators host the undefeated austin black bears senator qb nicholas sawyer takes the snap and looks deep to cameron foley with a clean reception in the endzone putting sparkman on the board first at 7-0 austin is quick to answer with the pass from quincy crittendon to reciever christopher lyle and he runs it in the rest of the way to tie up the game at 7-7 senators sawyer hands the ball off to chance mclendon who breaks through the defense and stiffarms another to be taken down in the endzone for another touchdown.

Sparkman with the upset!!!

Senators go on to win 21-14 over in lauderdale county -- schools have been taking safety precautions to ensure that football can continue to be played.

Waay 31's max cohan joins us live from brooks high school to tell us what he saw during tonight's game against deshler.

Guys, before the game here at redding stadium -- the district's precautions were the first thing you saw upon arrival.

With signs about the mandatory masking and recommended distancing greeting them when they pass through the gates -- fans were aware of what was expected of them.

Seperate entrances were used for fans and tickets were only sold online.

And while things looked calm before the game, it was a different story during the action -- with packed seats and many opting not to wear masks.

Before the game one fan who said she's been at every game this year said she had no problem with the precautions.

"i think it's a great way for people to still stay safe and for us still to be able to watch football.

The tickets online is a great way so we're not spreading germs, but we're still able to come get things beforehand and still be able to watch the game."

Malley told me she thinks people are willing to do whatever it takes to keep playing football...so lets take a look at the action that brought in that crowd.

With a packed house -- trailing by 14 in need of a score -- quarterback hunter himber takes the snap and gets a friendly goal line push -- no signal at first but officials say he's in and brooks tacks on seven to end the first half.

In the third with brooks driving -- trenton spray takes a handoff and makes a few moves before the ball is knocked out.

It looks like deshler is going to recover but the lions manage to retain possesion and get a first down on the play.

Later in the drive, going for it on fourth down himber drops back looking for a man downfield but the pocket colapses and he's sacked.

And the tigers take over.

But it's trouble quickly as two tigers run into each other and the ball pops lose, they would also find a way to get the ball back.

Later in the drive, kendarius anderson is looking to convert on third and long but davarius king hits him with a huge sack before he has a chance.

To the raiders on garth..

Randolph hosting madison county... in a 4a region 7 matchup raiders just edging the tigers mid way thru the second quarter.

It's fourth down... tigers going for it all, but meet a wall or raiders!

And that ball aint going no where..

Randolph takes over, and gears up for a long drive.

Nothing comes of it.

Madison county ball.

Ramiro towers hands it off to brayden parton the big guy is off to the races... tigers on top.

Raiders try to rebound, check this out, andrew hunter able to get the ball off as he's being pulled to the ground, drew stanley not only catches, but getss up field.

Next play, roan campbell big sack.

Not enough though..

Tigers stay undefeated, final 29-14.
