Bear Fire victims can go to The Local Assistance Center in Oroville to get help with some of their needs.

One man explains how FEMA helped him.

A more than two weeks after the bear fire roared into butte county, survivors are starting to get help.

Action news now reporter amy lanski was in oroville where fema stepping in.

I spoke to one man who lost everything and said this is a very helpful start."

Richard woodruff- bear fire survivor "they have already helped us 100% i mean we are nervous, you don't know it is easy to talk on tv like i am doing right now.

To get out and get online and do all this paperwork it is so confusing, and it is on and on and on so people like this we need the help."

Fema representative troy york says survivors of the fires should come to the mobile registration intake center.

"people can come here and register for fema, get their program get their wants established so we can figure out what programs would be applied to them."

York says survivors will also get a registration number.
