He explains how we're not alone in their streak being broken.

Vigo county's bellwether streak lasted 64 years before being broken... but they weren't the only ones.

14 of the 23 most notable bellwether counties across the united states saw their bellwether streaks end once joe biden declared victory.

That's 60 percent.

Vigo county clerk brad newman spoke to me about this substantial number.... and about vigo county's streak being over.

With trump winning by a 15 point advantage in 20-16... newman says he and many local experts anticipated much of the same in this years election.... and not much could have changed that.

Newman says it's quite eye- opening.

He says it's clear voters are breaking from the straight ticket loyalty we've seen in years past.

He tells me people are more free-thinking, want change, and we saw that reflected with how many bellwether counties had their streaks broken..

Including vigo county.

They're tired of it.

In the midwest, we have different values and different perspectives than a lot of people.

You saw it come out in force.

On a national level i think you're seeing a different vibe in certain areas.

I don't know that they necessarily voted for biden.

I think a lot of people voted against trump."
