The Salvation Army and

Welcome back!did you happen to catch those bell ringers today over at hy-vee, if they looked familiar there's good reason, several of us here at kq2 took time this thursday to help the salvation army fill that kettle i, along with my co-workers had the opportunity to speak with shoppers who took the time to give.

<<[nats] bell ringingit's become one of the sounds of the seasonthank you!

Bell ringing for the salvation army, thursday at hy-vee shoppers were in the giving mood, sparing what they could for those less fortunatewell everybody needs help now and again and i know i've needed help in the past so now i'm able to help other people so i like to do it makes me feel good.

I feel like it's a way for me to give back to the community, and just to be kind.

Nats christmas musicall day, familiar faces from kq2 took the time to help the salvation army raise money for its red kettle campaign bringing a bit a christmas cheer after a challenging year.

It is a little different, this year our theme is rescue christmas cause we know there's going to be lots of people who are going to need that additional help.

The salvation army, like much of the rest of us have felt the impacts of covid-19 many of their traditional bell ringers have sat this year out, and more importantly those who rely on the salvation army for help are only doing so even more now with the pandemic.

Either they've missed work, they've been laid off work they lost their jobs whatever it may be hy-vee shoppers also aware of covid's impact stressing the importance of donating even in this time of social distancing.

I'm trying to avoid it and i know other people are and it's tough, we may all need helpi actually tried to put just a little bit extra in because of what's going on both the salvation army and shoppers say this year more so than ever, every little bit helpsi have people all the time just say 'all i got's chance', and i always tell 'em change makes change.

I think it's so important for people that have hat extra to give more.

Ron johnson kq2 news the salvation army says they are now accepting contributions digitally through apple or google pay, though the red kettle campaign ends on christmas eve, they remind people you can still make donations after christmas day.
