Com a serious motorcycle accident forced a group of street bikers to come together in support of one of their own during his recovery.

News 12's winston reed gives us a look at street bike's of chattanooga's benefit ride for kevin bolton.

Kevin bolton vaguely remembers his motorcycle accident in north carolina.

"the only thing i remember doing is hitting that guardrail, flying over the edge, coming in contact with the tree and after i hit that tree i was just laying there."

Kevin was airlifted to a hospital after the devastaing accident.

His riding partner had poor cell signal, preventing him from getting in contact with kevin's family.

And that's where street bikes of chattanooga came in.

Kevin is a member of the facebook group.

When they found out what hospital he was being taken to, they managed to contact his family member in illinois, who relayed the message to his mother.

"we were looking everywhere to try and find out where he was.

We called every place we could think of but these guys found him and these guys were amazing.

I cant say enough about these guys."

On sunday afternoon, street bikes of chattanooga went to kevin's mother's home in soddy daisy for a benefit ride.

An effort to raise money for kevin's hospital bills.

"it's going to be a long recovery for him but he'll be back out with us one day but it means a lot to be out here to do this.

I'm personally honored."

Kevin's sole mission is to get back on his bike and ride again.

"this ain't going to stop me.

The only thing that will stop me is if i'm buried 10 feet underground.

I gotta get back on that bike and ride.

It's a passion.

It's a love."

And mom is okay with that.

Under one condition.

"just as long as he slows down.

I'll be fine with him getting back on the bike."

For kevin, street bikes of chattanooga started as on online motorcycle group.

Now it means so much more for him.

"these people are family.

They're all family.

Every single one of them."
