Mount Markham senior Hayleigh Gates scores 1,000th point Monday night at home against Poland
Players, accomplishing anything hold much more meaning.
Tonight, mount markham's hayleigh gates' took her personal achievements to a new level by joining the 1,000 point club.
And she did it with the clocked stopped and all eyes on her.
-- with this free throw in the 3rd quarter, the senior guard earned her 1,000th point as a mustang.
She is believed to be the 4th mount markahm girls basketball player to reach this milestone.
-- there is she and her dad and coach, steve gates rellishing in the moment.
What a year it has been for her and all of these players.
-- it makes this accomplishment that much more special.
Hayleigh gates: i'm just really happy i got the chance to be here tonight.
A lot of craziness this year.
I'm just happy and grateful that we actually had a season.
Four or five years of teammtes that i've had.
I'm just so thankfulfi couldn't ask for a better coach, we've been through it all together.
My mom does all the recordings so she gets to be at my games.
Actually my aunt and uncle help with the stats and shot clock and luckily tonight my grandparents could come too and cheer me on.
Love that.
The mustangs have five regualr season games remaining on the schedule.
Then hayleigh will bring her talents to her dream school in the fall - paul smith's college to play for the bobcats.
