For 25 years, Ash Ketchum and Pikachu have traveled the world of 'Pokémon' across a number of series.

Polygon reports that their time together will come to an end in 'Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series.'.

It focuses on the Pokémon Coronation Series, a championship with trainers from across the franchise, which Ash won.

On December 16, the Pokémon Company announced that as the series comes to an end, so will the story of Ash and Pikachu.

The company said it plans to air "a collection of special episodes" to cap off 'Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series.'.

The "special episodes" are expected to focus on series favorites like Misty and Brock.

Polygon reports that five episodes of 'Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series' remain following Ash and Pikachu's big win.

Three of those episodes have already aired in Japan.

Netflix has yet to announce when English versions of the episodes will be available to stream.

The Pokémon company also announced that the next series will feature dual protagonists Liko and Roy alongside Pokémons Violet and Scarlet.

According to the company, the series will be , “unraveling the mysteries of the Pokémon world — from Trainer battles to fun Pokémon encounters.”
